How I went from being addicted to work and alcohol to living free, in purpose, and a balanced lifestyle - part 1

Hi Reader

If you are feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, tired but wired or feeling like you're running on empty, maybe even dead inside,...

I want to let you know that I've been there.

For most of my career life, I was on a repeating cycle to burn out: working sprints where I gave it all, up to a point where I couldn't take it anymore - physically and mentally -, followed by a week or two where I had to recover. I would usually spend days in my bed out of exhaustion. Just to go back and do the same thing again.

To say that I lacked self-awareness earlier in my life is an understatement.

So I kept doing this until the burnout beat me.

In 2017, I had the perfect storm brewing. And this time, when it hit, it broke me.

I shared everything about this time in my life that led to an identity crisis with my friend Anokhi Kapasi, the brilliant host of the "Achieve your Ambitious Mom life" podcast.

We had such a rich conversation that she broke it down into 2 parts.

Are you a high achiever who is feeling like you're working hard but treading water?

Are you a business owner who is wearing all the hats, putting down all the fires and going through hectic days with no space for you?

Are you in a season of your life where you question who you are and what you are meant to do?

Are you a parent who is busy from the moment you wake up right until it's time to go to sleep, wondering how long you can keep going this way?

If yes, I see you. I am you. I was you.

And I want to let you know that you're only on shift, only a few systems away, from coming back to yourself and creating more balance in your life.

I invite you to listen to this podcast episode to hear more about the shift that put me on a new trajectory.

Part 2 drops on Friday.

I will email you the link.

I hope and pray some of you hear something in my story that helps you.
My life went 180, and yours can too.

With love,

Jihane

PS: You're ALWAYS welcome to reply to my emails with questions, comments and your story. I love to hear from you.
