Struggling with your body image? This is the most powerful force for lasting weight loss.

Hi Reader

Welcome back to 1UP,
my weekly newsletter where I share all things health and mindsets to help you get stronger, feel younger and live longer.

Spoiler: being hard on yourself does not produce lasting results

A survey of over 1,000 people aged 40+ found that 75% were dissatisfied with their bodies, and 64% reported frequently judging their own worth based on their weight.

If you are here, there is a strong probability that you are struggling with some body image.

I know this whole concept comes pretty loaded.
This episode is not about “body positivity”, or going to tell you that “You are beautiful no matter what”,

In this episode, we’ll start with the objective data of what a HEALTHY BODY looks like, while acknowledging healthy bodies come in many different shapes.

If you are in a place where you feel body dissatisfaction, this episode will help you to change the things you look at, so the things you look out, can change.

Here is how this episode will shift your perspective:

  • What you need to do instead of treating your body as the enemy
  • The most powerful force you can harness for lasting change
  • A way to relate to your body that can help you transform

Most of us have this idea that if we are hard on ourselves, we will become different.
We think being critical means not letting off the hook, and that will be the path to make a change.

It is a lie.

In fact, the opposite attitude is what brings change.
What is this powerful force I share about in this episode? Listen here to find out:

When you embrace this, there is a breakthrough waiting for you.

PS: I NEED YOUR HELP

I am looking for a few people for a chat for market research.

If you're in your 40s, want to lose weight, get rid of belly fat and get stronger for longevity, I would like to ask you a few questions.

I love the book of Joshua in the bible.

After Moses led the Hebrews out of slavery, Joshua took over as a leader.

He was tasked with military conquest. I know this part can bring controversy, but let us put this aside for a sec.

Here's what I want to share with you:
Joshua and his second, Caleb, were is in their 80s and engaged in the fights.

I fully believe that there is a way to live our lives such that we would be fit for duty at 80. (Look at Mark Sisson, 72. Look at bodybuilders in their 80s).

You want to get stronger, age well and be around for a long time.
You want to be full of energy to accomplish everything God has appointed to.
You want to be here for your family well into your old age.

But... currently in your 40s, you know that the body you have won't get you there.

You know it's time to pay attention to your health, so you can win the race.
You know there's another level of fitness that would allow you to keep slaying giants in your 80s for your children's children.

You want to lose weight. You're a woman or a man.
You want to build muscle and strength.
I would love a chance to speak with you and hear about your dreams, your struggles and what is on your heart.

I know God has called you.
I want to support you in stewarding the body that will help you carry the call.
I am looking for a few more people to talk to for market research.

The Lord commanded Joshua to be STRONG and courageous.
And he's commanding us too.
I pray he blesses your steps.

Jihane.
